I have sessions on both days – in total four sessions – and here is the short overview of these. It’s all mostly about ASP.NET, ASP.NET vNext, and cloud but there’s also something about legacy code. What’s new in ASP.NET 5
01.12 11:15 – Zaal A. Technical overview session about next version of ASP.NET. First I focus on most important changes and news. Then I make short overview of new runtime system and then it is time for demos. Demos include: new solutions and projects structure, K runtime, new configuration files and configuration containers, shared sources, POCO controllers, ASP.NET vNext on Azure Websites and Linux.
Architecting ASP.NET MVC applications
01.12 16:45 – Zaal A. This session introduces different approaches and patterns we can apply when architecting ASP.NET MVC solutions. First I introduce some factors that affect architectural decisions and then I focus on different patterns and models. In last part of session I will focus on some interesting extensions points in ASP.NET MVC applications.
Working with legacy code
02.12 10:15 – Zaal B. Working on messy or rotten code-base and have no idea how to climb out from this deep hole? Main focus of this presentation is on hardest part of working with legacy code – who to get moving and how to get from awful code hell to situation where we can sleep the nights again.Advice and examples come from real life.
Building SaaS portals on ASP.NET and Windows Azure
02.12 14:45 – Zaal B. This session is deep-dive overview of one real-life SaaS portal service that is build on ASP.NET and is hosted on Windows Azure. Problem-solution style examples cover complex aspects of architecture and deployment, also some code level issues will be discussed. The objective is to encourage ASP.NET developers and architects to consider also Windows Azure as environment for complex systems.
